Swine Flu-What the Best Way to Prevent It?
Swine flu has become the world’s dominant strain of influenza and lots of people are getting worried with this never-before-seen virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that within two years, nearly one-third of the world’s population will be infected with swine flu. This is not a good sign isn’t? According to the research, those who at high risk are pregnant women, people with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease and neuromuscular diseases including muscular dystrophy.
While people are waiting for the vaccine to arrive, there are something that we can do to prevent us from catching this disease. If you’re living in an area where outbreaks and the sickness is spreading quickly, it would be smart to wear a surgical mask to protect yourself from the spread of airborne pathogens.
Also, when you’re about to sneeze or cough, always cover your mouth with tissue that you can throw away. Always use sanitizer to kill germs on your hand to both protect yourself and limit spread of any germs from person to person or commonly touched items such as door handles or stair railings. The most obvious method but always missed out method of protecting yourself from catching this disease is wash your hand! So don’t forget to wash your hand every time you wish to touch your mouth or foods.
